I am attempting to find information on my great great grandparents William Campbell & Anna Campbell (nee Henry) who emigrated from Scotland to NZ on ship called "Margaret" about 1841. I cannot find a passenger list for "Margaret" on or around 1841. I do not have date or place of birth or marriage for either of them.
Eliza Jane their daughter was born in 1848 and that information can be found at website: http://ouraucklandstuff.freeservers.com/KendallCD.htm I believe that she married a Mr Robinson and lived in Auckland - but cannot verify that.
Hugh Henry Campbell was born on 11 September in 1853. West Australian relatives notified me that his birth was entry No 1617 for 30/10/1853 and registered on 1/12/1853. The address listed was Cook Street, Auckland, NewZealand. I have checked on NZ BMD and cannot locate either Hugh or Eliza's births.
I have very little information on Hugh Henry Campbell until he moved to Northam in Western Australia and married my great grandmother Emma Amelia Smith in 1897. It was the second marriage for both of them with Hugh's first wife dying in childbirth. Her name is believed to be Jane Mary or Mary Jane Smith and they met and married in New South Wales. Hugh Henry Campbell worked on the railways and ended up having his own carting company in Northam - by that stage he was known as Henry Campbell. He died in 1921 in Northam, Western Australia.
Does anyone have access to information to verify ancestors from New Zealand? I have tried all avenues on the internet but very little information for NZ appears to be available on the internet.
I would be grateful for any information.
Kind regards
Erica, Brisbane

If you haven't already tried it, you might want to look at Papers Past (free newspaper archive for NZ).
