    Default I yodel you not....!

A while back I discovered I had a relative who was born in Austria and sent off an enquiry to their sort of equivalent of our TNA.

Today was amazed to received a very detailed reply including the TIME of both the birth and confirmation!

Admittedly my already knowing the exact date of birth, name of person*, town and area of Austria helped.

    * on English documents her first name was Cecilia but on the German language document it appears as "Zäzilia"

suble "Anglication" of foreign names can be a stumbling block sometimes.

Glad to hear you had a useful reply. Is it possible to share the contact details of the archives you got the information from? I have an ancestor who was born in Austria in the 17th century whose details I would like to verify. Did you have to pay for the information?

    Laurence.
