    Hi Janet,
You might just want to double-check my findings re possible deaths, but I think that they are the only two likely ones which are just plain Annie.

By the way, I've just noticed a slight error in post #16
1962, December quarter, Spilsby registration district, aged 93. Age quite a long way out, and Scunthorpe is quite a long way away (though probably not as far as Grantham).
The correct registration district is Scunthorpe - error caused by doing a copy-and-paste job. The good news is that it doesn't affect anything.

Thanks Pam. I ordered the Notts death cert today along with Harry's death...see if there's any overlap.

Bad news on the 1958 Notts Annie death cert- not my one.

But better on the 1987 Harry R Sands death cert. Harry is the grandson of the Annie that owned the pub. It gives me who he married and maybe I can find some children of the marriage. They would have been born after 1936.

    Thanks for the update.

Fingers now crossed for the Lincs 1958 death registration.

Hah! I found her!! Died 1960 in the Louth Reg district! Only ordered 4 certs. What a mammoth adventure. I also was able to locate her on the 1939 NHS 42 pound search and it gave me her birth date of 1876. Next quest is to find the marriage...I don't have a maiden name...yee gods gotta love my family! So I have her husband' death cert (John) William Smith born abt 1873. He was buried in Basford Cemetery and was a pensioner soldier- colour sergeant in the South Staffs regiment when he died in 1914. I will keep plugging away!
