    Question Broom Family, Chilcompton, Somerset

    Hi - I live in Lancashire and have just found your site. I am hoping someone can help me find a birth record for my g g grandfather JOHN BROOM born about 1820, Chilcompton, Somerset. His father was also John Broom, occupation Tailor.

    I have him on 1851 census age 40 living in Moseley Hole, Willenhall, Staffs but can not find any trace of him pre 1848 when he married Ellen Dodd a widow from Willenhall.

    Default Brooms of Somersetshire

    Hi Shiela,

    I don't happen to have any information on john you are looking for, but I was wondering if you knew anything else about any more Brooms from Somersetshire? I am researching Thomas E. Broome born 1812 in Somersetshire, immigrated to Canada bef. 1847.
