    Hello

I'm doing a family tree for a friend and he is curious about a great uncle who died in WWI, his father was named after him so I am sure the name is right but I can't find him anywhere!! The extended family was from Lancs and i believe he is featured in a museum in Bury.... I've trawled CWGC and A****** military records but can't find him, can anyone suggest some alternative places to look?

If he isn't listed in CWGC, the chances are that you've been misinformed about his name or the circumstances of his death.

Have you searched the civilian death indexes? Have you got confirmation of the man's name eg from BMD records and/or census records?
