    Default Quernmore School, Bromley, Kent

My great grandfather Francis Robert TUTTON was Head of Quernmore School from 1916 to 1928.

I've been trying to research his time there and so far have viewed a small archive at Bromley Library. Unfortunately this covers only from about 1910 to 1915 with a little from the 1960s. It contains some copies of the Quernmore school magazine (The Quernmorian) that might be of interest to anyone whose ancestors attended the school at the time.

Hi, I was really interested in what you had to say about your great grandfather as I've been trying to find out more for my 88 year old father, D...... Parfett, who with his 4 older brothers all attended Quernmore for a very lengthy period up until the outbreak of war in 1939. Sadly he is the only one alive now but all 5 brothers would have been there when Mr Tutton was Head and I'm sure he'd be delighted to give you more information!

Thanks for your note Jackie and yes I would like to know if your father has any recollections of my gf (not ggf as I put in my original post). I took a few photos of parts of the archive at Bromley library as, to my surprise, it had references to the Chavasse family (my gm was a Chavasse) and I would be happy to email these to you. They comprise photos of the school buildings, undated group photos and the school magazine - the Quernmorian. The quality is not wonderful as this was my first foray into an archive!

    Please pm your email address.

    Kind regards

    Roger J Tutton
