John Walton age 52 born Westoning was also living in Hendon in 1911, along with a son Reginald age 20. I don't believe in coincidences. I don't think there's much doubt about the parentage of John who married Edith, although his marriage cert should confirm that his father was John. Hopefully it will also say his occupation was a coachman, as many John Waltons also had a father named John!
Despite what the Ancestry index says, to which I have added a correction, Mary Walton's birthplace in 1891 was Whitchurch, Bucks, not Whitwick Beds

Hi, you said he was in his 20s in 1911, surely it gave his exact age?
Was his wife Edith Helen bn 1883?
Did he have siblings with him also couple of kiddies in Hendon?
Thank you

Hi this is regarding John Walton age 52 born Westoning this must be my great grandad so i am grateful for this information to work on thanks to davidcarca.
Yes in the 1911 census John is 29 and Cecil his brother is 22, John and Edith have two children Albert and Cecil 3 and 1 years
Why did all the fathers, John call their children John, its too confusing but at least now i have something to work on, thanks for
the information.

If you purchase the birth certificate of one of their children you'll get the mother's maiden name, which should make the search for their marriage easier. There's a marriage on FreeBMD in Sept 1876 in Hexham Northumberland which might be them given their first child was born in Northumberland

Between 1910 & 1912 poster said John was in his 20's.
I've found only one aged 29 bn 1882c living in Hendon.
Edith Helen, Albt Edwd 3, Cecil Hy 1.
Also Cecil George 22 and Kathleen 31.
Interesting
