One of the best fairs in the country is taking place again in just over a week's time.

    Details Here.

We will be there as usual and hope to see friends old and new.

Just had another look at the list of exhibitors. The whole country is represented, from Aberdeen to Cornwall and points in between. It'll be harder to find nothing than to find something to help

Yes Graham one of the best fairs of the season.

Parish Chest and British Genealogy will be in their usual corner (No one dare take that corner from Pam)

Anguline Research Archives (ARA) will be there with both books and CDs including many "Fair Specials".

These fair specials are heavily discounted compilation cds only available at the various fairs ARA exhibits at.

In addition Anguline Research Archives are giving away free copies of a CD specially prepared for this fair (No Purchase Necessary).
The CD contains a number of samples of newspapers from the 19th century.

Not only do exhibitors come from all over but they come back year after year - which must say something about the event in itself. I was talking to Alex at the Sunderland fair a few weeks ago and he remarked on that.

I've made sure my Brit Gen badge is in my shirt collar so I don't forget it - daren't risk the wrath of Pam

Yes but people asked Stan to add something extra this year, something special, as it was the 15th fair.

All stops have been pulled out!

    No effort has been spared!

    Yes it is true!

Anguline Research Archives will be at York.

    Cheers

Seriously though it is one of the best fairs in the country and gives WDYTYA a run for its money in my view.
I have been to every York fair from the first year when it was on two days.

There are excellent transport links with good free (me Scottish roots and Yorkshire ways) parking.
Good public transport and everyone is made welcome, even Cornish Piskies.

I seem to remember someone mentioned cornish teas but they never materialised.
    Cheers

I totally agree about how great it is. Unfortunately I always seem to find more stuff that I want / need than finances permit. This year I intend going with a list that I shall hopefully stick to even though I've been saving up for weeks. Hope to finally get to meet some of you.

Oh no! I'll be out of the UK then and not returning to the UK until the day after (I know, I know, poor timing on my part.......)

Have always wanted to attend one of these events.

Never mind, have fun those of you who are lucky enough to go (blows heavily into kleenex....)

Anyone would think that I talked a lot.......

Don't forget to let us know who you are so that you may claim your Brit-Gen badge. I managed to pin one on Graham last year without drawing blood!

Only because I was watching you That's the other reason I made sure it's already in my shirt collar - the risk factor
