Simpsons from Knaresbro' or Leeds

My niece asked me if I could find anything on her husbands family, his parents are both deceased and he knows very little about them.( and I know even less)
Does anyone have Simpsons from Knaresbro' or Leeds in the West Riding Yorkshire, and also Hodgson (or Hudson) possibly from the same area?.
I have Albert Mitchell Simpson from Knaresbro', marrying Sarah A Hodgson Dec quarter 1914.Leeds, and a son Geoffrey Simpson (now deceased),born 1927 Leeds, West Riding.
I've yet to have a look at the census for them as I've only just started on this.

I think that the certificates should be the first step or you could end up with possibly the wrong families in the 1911 and 1901 censuses.

i have Simpsons in Knaresborough Thomas and Elizabeth but they died in 1857 and 1861 with five known children including two sons John and Thomas but you have a way to go yet before you reach my tree so get in touch if you link up with either of these.

I'd suggest obtaining Geoffrey Simpson's birth certificate first. If you are looking for a Albert M Simpson / Hodgson marriage, there is this one:

The 1914 marriage that you referenced is a Sarah A Hudson

Thanks Adele, I think you might be right, also the marriage date of 1920 fits a bit better than the one in 1914, as they had a son Geoffrey Simpson born in 1927,Leeds 9b 656. if I've got the right one. (too late at night for any serious thinking and I don't know the family very well as yet)

Adele, where did you find that Dec quarter 1920 marriage for Simpson and Hodgson, I've looked all through Free Bmd and they don't appear to have Dec quarter 1920 on their books, I've also tried just using your reference Vol.9c page 280 and still can't find them, is it me doing something wrong?.

I found it on the Ancestry marriage registrations index. Looking at FreeBMD coverage chart, none of the Dec 1920 quarter has yet been transcribed.
