On the CWGC certificate for Frank it gives his address as The Milton High School, Bulawayo, S. Rhodesia.
I would like to know when Frank went to S. Rhodesia as he married in Dewsbury in 1914. I can't find him on the 1911 census, but have found his parents.
Does anyone have any hints about where I can go from here. I've put the Milton High School into google, but only get up to date information.
Thanks
Fran

Apparently, the school was established in 1910 and named after Sir William Milton, administrator of the British South Africa Company. According to Google, there is quite an active Old Boys Association - the Miltonians - who are rather proud of the school.
As this year would be the school's centenary, it might be worth contacting it direct as they could be delving into their records in preparation.

On the military genealogy website there is a Frank Taylor born in Dewsbury with a residence at Old Bank - if you pay for the record you will get more details. You may get the unit he was with and they may be able to help with more details
Not been on here for a while so can't remember if you are allowed to post links or not but if you google the bit in bold it's the top link....

As Daft Bat says the school will probably have something about him as I presume he was a teacher there. He does appear on the Milton School Roll Of Honour http://oldmiltonians.com/rollofhonour.html

Thank you both. I'll follow both suggestions.
The sad thing about the story is that Frank married in 1914 and his widow Polly never remarried.
Thanks again

Abject apologies Jan for addressing you as Daft Bat! I get confused over peoples' names here.
It can be rather perplexing; like why am I....
