Default A Marriott from Golden, Colorado USA

Hello. I am another American of English origin wanting to know more about my forefathers in the British Isles. I have been at this facinating hobby for 20 years now and have found information on some truly interesting people. In 1999 I was fortunate to visit the birthplace of my great grand father in East Markham, Nottinghamshire. I traveled alone by bus and rail and found the English people to be very friendly and interesting. I have about exhausted the information available in the census records and now wish to learn more about real life in the 18th century England. My mothers ancestors are from Ireland and I have yet to learn much about their whereabouts in that country.

Welcome to Brit-Gen, Jack! You have certainly come to the right place. Have a good look round and then post on the relevant forum when you are ready.
