I too come originally from Dunedin New Zealand. My father researched the Heenan family from Birr and a cousin the Macaskills from Lewis and I've been trying to find out more about the Flemings from Clare to Melbourne without much luck and am now turning to my mother's mother's people the Friths and Jeffreys from Horncastle, Hatton and Sturton. I am a retired librarian and think I could become hooked on genealogy if not careful!

Hello Mariah
We retired librarians must stick together! I've only recently joined the B-G Forum; it's rather like being a librarian without being paid! I've only been 'doing' my family history since 1973 - it's amazing how fascinating it becomes (in between the cricket!).
Do start posting here; it's a wonderfully friendly & knowledgeable community.
