    1837 online

Alternatively, you could order it from GRO without the reference.

Carrie, have you tried using freebmd?

    There is an entry there:

Jun 1842, PARSONS Edwin, Wimborne, VIII 162

I've double-checked the entry on 1837 online and can confirm it is correctly transcribed.

There are other entries for the name between 1841 and 1845 in Honton, Axbridge, Southampton and Langport.

Thanks Geoffers but that is the wrong entry. They would have married abt 1865 as the oldest child is 1866. The earliest would be abt 1860 as edwin would then be 17. He wasnt born until 1843.

Yes I have tried FreeBMD, I am a regular user and a transcriber, but not listed yet.

    Thanks anyway.

I need to subscribe to this. Cannot afford that as well as my ancestry.

Was trying to get away from this one, as it would cost me 13pounds to order this one online without a ref as I live in Australia. This would cost me about $32.50AUS after conversion.

I'm puzzled here......"Edwin Parsons (born abt 1843, wimborne)"

If you don't have his birth certificate, how do you know he wasn't born until 1843???

Jun 1842, PARSONS Edwin, Wimborne, VIII 162

    1842 seems to be about/rougly/around 1843

What source do you have for a birth in 1843 which excludes 1842? Or have you already ordered this certificate and it is the wrong one?

Sorry, my fault, I know what I am after but forgot to actually write it in my initial post. It is his marriage cert that I am after, not his birth.
When I saw your inital post, I was looking at it as a marriage reference, but it is in actual fact his birth ref !!!!

The problem is knowing which Edmund Parsons marriage to look for. Although there weren't loads by this name, there were several born 1841-45 and if they survived, may well have married within a few years of each other.

I'd suggest - if possible - getting a copy of a birth certificate for one of his children which will show the maiden name of Edwin Parsons' wife. Using both names, it will be easier to make sure that you order the correct marriage certificate.
