I am looking for McKinnon's from Isle of Skye. Gregor McKinnon, "also Grigor, Gregory" came to North Carolina year unk....he was born about 1749...he fought on the British side in the Revolutionary War and came to New Brunswick Canada in 1783......I have never been able to find anything about his parents ......

I have added a reply to the McArthur thread and the same person is also researching Mackinnons. May help you or him. I have told Don and he is going to try and get on here.

I am afraid that Skye was a big MacKinnon stronghold and Strath was where the chiefs and family are buried 100's of them, there is a ruined church there with a macKinnon grave yard, but only the more dominant ones have grave/headstones, I do have some details of some later MacKinnon's that lived in Luib, Strath about 8 miles to the north on MacKinnon country my family inter married with the MacKinnon's as the township of Luib was basically just MacArthur and MacKinnon.
