Have also found several births for a Darrer with a mother Murphy between 1940 and 1947 but until I know the name of his spouse, I cannot determine if I've got the right family.

    Ideas/suggestions welcomed.

Have you had a rummage amongst the stickies at the top of the General Irish family History forum?

My wife has now confirmed that the chap I found, with several children, whose mother's maiden was Murphy is in fact he mother's brother, and so we're making headway.

She also 'thinks' that the marriage of her mum and dad may have taken place in Belfast.

    Such is life, eh??
