Default Abbreviations used in medal index cards

I've just come across TNA's list of abbreviations used in WW1 medal index cards.

Perhaps it will be helpful for reading some of those tricky initials?

Good one Kerrywood, deserving of a 'sticky' perhaps?

The abbreviations mentioned refer to units. There is also a separate list of abbreviations of ranks.

There are straightforward links to both lists from the main First World War Medal Index Cards page which contains a lot of sefl information.

That I would suggest is a page worth bookmarking.
