    Default Help Finding Wilding-Coles of Kent

    Hi everyone;

    I'm looking to find out more about my great Grandfather, Hugh Wilding Cole. I know that Hugh emigrated to Newfoundland in the early 1900's, married Eva Munroe and sired my grandfather, Lionel H, my great uncle Harvey and my great aunt Ainslie.

    I have no clues to his family, siblings, parents, etc.

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Thanks,

    Lionel B Wilding-Cole
    Toronto, Ontario

    Was his full name Hugh Henry Wilding Cole, I only ask as he is on a Canadian passage list in the 1930's and says he was in Canada before between 1905 and 1929. Wife is Eva, Sidcup.

    I think this actually says Norman

    ETA: Yes, definitely Norman. Several of the sibling marriages took place in London and can be found amongst the London Metropolitan Archive records on Ancestry.

    Her father was William CHETWOOD, doctor

    Nora Agnes WILDING-COLE (26) married Sydney William CHETWOOD (36) dental surgeon, brother of Florence (above) in St.John's Holborn on June 18th 1911

    Gwendoline Mary WILDING-COLE (23) married George Edward Delaney SCOTT (25), clerk, in St.John's Holborn on 22 July 1905

    Wink Many thanks!!

    Wow, you people are amazing and incredibly helpful! Thank you all so much!!

    I believe my great-grandfather was indeed Hugh Henry Wilding-Cole so you've definitely set me on the right course. Also, my father's middle name was Norman, and now I see from where it derived.

    Thanks again!
