Hi everyone
I have recently discovered my Grandfather was a British subject born in Bangalore, India c 1870 although there dosn't seem to be a record of his birth that matches up with any details that I already have. I have checked with the British Library with no success.
On his wedding certificate in 1900 he gives his father's occupation as Bandmaster, would this have been military ?
If anyone has any ideas where I go next I would appreciate it.

1. Have you checked the GRO military indexes?
2. Try to locate his father's military records, probably in series WO 97 at the National Archives.Peter Goodey
