Hi All,
Can someone tell me if 'Institution Infirmary' in sub-district of Walton, Liverpool, had another name or later changed it's name? It is given as the place of death on a 1919 death certificate and I have tried googling it but with no result.
Any help greatfully appreciated.
Karen

Hello Karen,
Have a look at TNA's Hospital Database. It seems that Walton Hospital was the West Derby Poor Law Institution to 1913 and became Walton Institution Infirmary from 1913 to 1930.

Also have a look at the workhouse site workhouses.org.uk which confirms what Jan says and also provides some pictures. Navigate to the West Derby page.
