Hi everybody,
i couple of years ago whilst trawling the net for church parish registers in Manchester i came across a pay site advertising the search and sale of lots of Marriages by Special Licence in Manchester.
Like a fool I never noted the URl.
Does anybody have it.
Thanks in advance.

Weren't special licences issued by the Faculty Office and isn't an index available on line at British Origins?

Hi Peter,
as you say British Origins has an electronically searchable data set but you have to take out a subscription before you can search.
It is not the site that i noticed a few years ago as it covers the whole country whereas the one i noted was specifically for Manchester.
However, if its the only one then I will have to save some pennies.
Thanks for the heads up.
