Hi My name is Kelly and ive been researching my Tree for years, And i cant believe i have only just found this site!!.. Anyway, I have found so much out.. But i still am Stuck with quite a few names!.. I have searched through the Forum and i cant find any link to my names. Like ELLMER.. I think they were from Barton, Axholme, around 1700ish and they settled around Goole.from about 1800ish, they are spread out around Yorkshire and Lincoln..
I also have STEAD, Who i think were from the same area. When i was searching through an elderly relatives attic i found a Letter dated 1792!. The letter is to a John Stead. Which i have managed to translate some of it, but the handwriting is so spidery!..Maybe someone on here could help?.. My Rebecca Stead and John Bilton Ellmer Married in 1839..
I have loads more names but i thought i best not overload on the first day!!..
Off to have a nose round more!

Welcome Kelly..

How exciting to find such an old letter...lucky you
I think I am doing great when I read through stuff from the late 1800's left to me by my late mother-in-law. You will certainly find some great help from the friendly folks on this site.
