Hi. I'm trying to find information about a school in Backrae Park, Selkirk. In 1865 had average attendance of 60 and was run by a Miss Laidlaw. I would like to know her christian name as well. Thanks

Maybe this is her - appears to be the only Laidlaw teacher in Selkirk in 1861 census:

1861 census Selkirk
Address West Port, Selkirk
Helen Laidlaw, unmarried, Age: 40, b Selkirk, Occupation Teacher

Living with sister Grace Laidlaw, unmarried, Age 30, b Galashiels, Selkirkshire, Factory worker, woollen.

Both still there in 1871, except now Helen is a Voluntary School Teacher.
