    Default Edward Richings

Hi there, I wonder if anyone would be able to help me?

I am looking for records concerning my gt grandfather Edward Richings, b abt 1877, Wickwar, Glos. On 3rd April 1920 he married Fanny Mitchell in Kent, and is listed on the marriage certificate as Edward Edwin Richings. He was however, still married to my gt grandma, Lilly at the time.

Edward was a LCpl in the Gloucestershire Regt, and then went on to serve in the Military Foot Police. He was sent home in 1918 to recover from pneumonia and was at St Marks Hospital in Tunbridge Wells. I have looked on his military service papers and with the help of another researcher related to Fanny Mitchell we have managed to ascertain he is one and the same, and we know that the Military Police came round to their address in Kent and arrested him for bigamy.

Problem I am having is finding any sort of record of it. I have checked all the newspaper sites I can think of but to no avail. I know that they were living at 21 Bromley Crescent, Kent at the time he was arrested. I have also checked National Archives but no luck there. Can anyone help me locate any record of this so that I can fill in the final blank to this story?

    Many thanks in advance
    Becky

    Hi,

As this is a question about a new possible bigamy record, I have moved it to its own thread (still within the Court Records forum) and given it a new title which will hopefully attract the attention of other members.
