Researching the descendants of Charles DONNE (senior) born 1768 at Drayton, Somerset and married Mary STEPHENS on 8/10/1798 at Curry Rivel, Somerset. Was a hatmaker. Son Charles DONNE (junior) born 1799 at Curry Rivel and married Elizabeth Ann LONGMAN on 25/8/1829 at Castle Carry, Somerset. Elizabeth Ann LONGMAN was born 1808 at Dicheat, Somerset. and died 1892 at Castle Carry
Charles Donne was at various times a Flaxmaker, and at others a grocer. Had at least 2 daughters and three sons that included a William Longman Donne (see entry on UK Emigrant Forum) William Longman DONNE with Children emigrated to South Africa about 1879-1880. Another line of descendants of Charles (junior), many retaining the second given name of Stephens, remained in Somerset, at least until the 1901 census.
