Joseph L Ferris 1823-1910

Hi Everyone,

I am trying to trace the parents of the above. he was born in New York and we think his father's name is John W Ferris, we dont have a birth date or place of birth. I am researching this tree for a friend in Montreal who is trying to find out what part of Britain this line of Ferris's came from. He thinks Scotland via Ireland.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Joseph Leroy Ferris is my great great grandfather and I have his father as John W Ferris from northern Ireland, but nothing more. Was hoping to find family in Ireland that could the foot work and get us out of this rut.
