This could well be him as according to census records he was born circa 1828

An update to this thread as it is almot finished.

John died and was buried November 26, 1889

I think his spouse was alve in 1891 but not at home on the night of the census. Following her marriage to John, the future census records have that are transcribed are as follows:
    1861 - Mary A. Jory
    1871 - Mary A. Jorey
    1881 - Mary Jory

    All births are in Manaccan

The census for 1881 indicates age for John as 53 and Mary as 51. The death for the John whose certificate I have is showing his age as 62. I am tempted to buy this certificate to see if it shows her as widow of John.

Should I consider buying the marriage certificate for 1855 [2nd q.]?

    Colin

There is a possible death of a Mary Jory in Redruth in 1897 [4th q.] aged 69. This one seems to fit
The Mary in 1881 at age 51
