Default Abbott, Northway, Lee & Lake in Plymouth

New to this site. Been researching my family's roots in the UK for a little more than a year. Mostly from free links on the Web. Based on two letters dated from 1846 written from my IV Great Grand Father George Abbott of Plymouth, Devon, UK to his son Samuel Abbott, who immigrated to the USA( before 1836 ). Any help will be greatly appreciated! Surnames found to be linked to the Abbott name from the letters are Northway ( IV Great Grand Mother's maiden name), Lee; Lake. The letters were addressed from No. 20 South Side St., Plymouth, G B. Two letters, one from Jan. and one from Aug. The Aug. letter was to report that his wife Jane, Samuel's mother had died. That helped me obtain a Death Cert. from GRO., having the exact date of her passing.
Prior Thanks! to any and all who can offer any direction in this quest! Of course the Lineage in the US has been fished pretty clean and I'd be interested in any links to my distance Cousins ( if there be any )accross the pond!

    Default Hey gortonboy

This what I know: George Abbott, wife Jane Northway Abbott died Aug., 1846 , he was crippled and could not walk much? Had at least six children, maybe eight? Samuel; George; Richard; Jane; John; Thomas; possibly a William and a Mary? Thomas died of smallpox in Dec. 1836. Jane married a John Lee in 1838, have cert. Samuel shipped out prior to his brother's death? I have Jane's death cert. too. George is listed as a Poulterer? Found no listing in 1841 Census that I felt like could be their family. ?
There are to many Abbotts listed, surely some are related. But, just like the Abbotts of MA, USA there are so many we are not connected too? Well at least not in this country.
