Default Record of Surgeons C 1820-1830

Are there any records available of a list of Surgeons for the above period.
I am trying to find a surgeon named Grove who had died before 1841, I have been unable to find his first name or where he was a surgeon. The 1841 census shows a Susannah Grove b. 1794 a surgeons widow. I have traced details of 2 children Frederick Grove born 1824 at Borham Sussex and Edmund Grove born 1827 at Morrell Roothing Essex. They were both living with their mother until she died in 1877.
    Any help would be appreciated.

If he was FRCS then look him up in Plarrs Lives of the Fellows of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. - mini biographies of all the Fellows of the Royal College. Your local library ought to be able to get in a copy for you, or all good reference libraries will have it.

Hello Norman. In the 1851 census I came across a relative who was visiting the home of someone who was a 'surgeon general practictioner/before 1815 Act.' Not knowing what this meant I looked on Google and found various sites. Unfortunately, the most helpful one I cannot find now but this may help:

Not everyone who called themselves a surgeon (or barber surgeon) was medically qualified. The Apothecaries' Act was implemented to ensure that all surgeons/doctors had a formal qualification.

I haven't researched this yet, but on the 1861 census, Susannah is living with her unmarried sister Sarah Willson. Is there a Susannah Willson / Grove marriage?

Also, is there perhaps a will at the National Archives of a surgeon named Grove?

And also, did the sons marry?

    Thank you for your comments.
In 1841 Susannah and her son Frederick are living with her sister Sarah and brother in law John Wilson. Her other son Edmund did get married and in 1871 the whole family was together.
I have since found that Frederick's full name is Frederick Barnard Grove.

The father's name should be on Edmund's marriage certificate?
