Who did she marry? and where do you expect this to have taken place?
Where was she born, this might help to locate her marriage.ChristineR

re Elizabeth Taylor
Christine, Elizabeth was married to John Elliot 1768, their children William 1798 and Betty 1800 were brn. in Hobkirk. This is the only inform. I have about Elizabeth. I have tried to find John's parents but no joy. So thought I would try through Elizabeth. This wall has been going on for quite awhile I think because I'm going into the earlier years of Anscetry it will get harder. Cheers, Trish

Hi there, re Elizabeth Taylor [Besty] b. June 1774 where?. She married c1797 where? to John Elliot b.Sept.1768 Hobkirk. They had 10 or 11 children the first William b.Dec1798 Hobkirk, last child Agnes b.Nov 1815 Hawick. So both parents of Besty and John are eluding me. Besty parents may have been John Taylor and Elizabeth!! John's mother and father? know idea!! Only back now after a fair break so late getting back to you. Trish.

Looking at Family Search's records for Hobkirk there is a gap in the marriage records. None shown between 1733 and 1808.
I haven't been able to find the marriage on Scotlands people so far either. It's possible that the register for 1797 has not survived.
There is a 1774 baptism Hobkirk shown on Family search, father John Taylor.
There are 2 baptisms for a John Elliot, one 1868 and one 1780. Both have father John Elliot
