If you are reading this message, it will mean that I have made it through the registration process ...Cheesh what a palaver !

So, what should I say, I am a sexagenarian Brit who took redundancy and is calling it retirement. Now that I have the time I am starting the quest to find my roots, with the massive help of the local Family History Society .

I was very impressed with this message board. I hope that it will be along and profitable relationship... I will soon be pestering you 'beacons of knowledge' with some questions.

Regards and Happy New Year to all

    Hi Desperate Dan

Welcome and I hope you are enjoying your retirement.

Take your time to look around and post your queries and brickwalls to see what we can do. Don't forget nothing about the living and no question is ever stupid and you will never get laughed at for asking us to confirm anything you may already have.

After the experience I had on another Forum today I am very glad about the 'palaver' here. That will teach me to read the title of a thread before I open it.

    Regards,
