    Red face Emmingham Simpson Tebb

Is any one researching these families from 1800 Lincoln/ Scotton/ Aisthorpe and then into 1870's Beverley Yorkshire? Particularly Mary Tebb who married William Simpson and then George William Simpson: christened her son by her second husband Robert Emmingham Simpson b1878. Her marriage witness to her first husband was Robert Emmingham. There's some family connections there I can't unravel!

I can see Robert Emmingham married to Rose and his father Robert married to Hannah. Neither spouse was a Simpson or a Tebb.
Robert senior' mother was Catherine, maybe she was.

Was there a relationship between William and George William Simpson?

In 1861 there is a Mary Tebb age 12 born in Scotton and the daughter of Eliza. John Simpson is the lodger. They are in Gainsborough.
    Any connection?

As Sandy says some more details, birth dates, census etc would be handy.

Found it for you 1871 Census has Robert Emmington with his wife Catherine and Neice Mary TELL(Tebb)
    Source Citation: Class: RG10; Piece: 3375; Folio: 5; Page: 3;

This would be just before she married William Simpson, Sept qtr 1871, Lincoln, Vol no 7a, Page no 7020.

1901 census has Catherine Emmingham as stepmother to Robert Emmingham and his wife Hannah.
Source Citation: Class: RG13; Piece: 3117; Folio: 14; Page: 19.

Have traced Robert & Catherine in the census also son Robert (who I think is your witness to Mary & William's marriage) through the Census, as well as his marriage to Hannah Crowder dec qtr 1862, Lincoln, Vol no 7a, Page no 909.

Now you will need to cheak this out for yourself but on Ancestry I keep getting conected to someone elses family tree and they have Robert Emmingham married to a Catherine Tebb, they have her as his 3rd wife but no sorce referances saved to the tree.

    Will continue looking...

This is probably the relationship between the families:

    Marriage index (image)

    Name: Robert Emmingham
    Year: 1841
    Quarter: June
    District: Lincoln
    County: Lincolnshire
    Volume: 14
    Page: 751

    Name: Catherine Tebb
    Year: 1841
    Quarter: Jun
    District: Lincoln
    County: Lincolnshire
    Volume: 14
    Page: 761

A mistake on page numbers when compiling the original typed index?
