FreeBMD shows the death registration of a Margaret Rouse
    age 98 in Winchester vol2c-page 76. June 1/4 of 1883.

What were you looking for in her regard?

1871 also shows her with her Son in Law Richard Atkins, her granddaughter Emma and her husband Charles Jefferies and their son Edwin
    RG number: RG10
    Piece: 1212
    Folio: 20
    Page: 33

The only problem is that it gives her place of birth as Somerset but perhaps her sone in law didn't know where she was born and guessed.

cannot find her prior to this.

but what information do you need us to help you find?

Many thanks. Any info about Margaret much appreciated, especially trying to find the Irish connection and trace Emma's mother. I have no idea what Margaret Rouse's maiden name was. 1881 census says born in Ireland and I always believed someone in the family came from Cork

Sarah Atkins nee Rouse was Emma's mother and she was born in 1830 in Duntargen?? Ireland(1851 census ) Do you have the marriage cert for Richard Atkins and Sarah? That will give Sarah's father's name and occupation.
Might he have been in the army?
It may be easier to trace Margaret Rouse if you have her husband as then you can see if there is a marriage for him and Margaret in Ireland.
Rouse is more a Sligo name than Cork but there are a few there on Griffifths valuation.
There is also a death of a Margaret Rouse in Cork in 1914 aged 80 odd.(sorry lost bit of paper with exact date)but it is on Family Search Pilot search.
There is also a G Rouse living at 38 Glanmire Rd.Lower Cork City in 1914.

    Amendments to above post.
I now have more information about the Rouse family. Margaret was born in Donegal 1778/9, 1851 census the place is spelt Glendeak but I cannot find it. Maybe Glenveagh or Glenties? I have traced three children of Margaret and Joseph Rouse. Joseph, also born Glendeak 1829, Sarah, born Dunvargan 1830 and Henry, born Winchester 1833

All the family are in Winchester in 1851, where Margaret died in 1883 and Joseph senior in 1858. Son Joseph married and moved to London, No trace of Henry and cannot find any birth certificates. The family left Ireland between 1830 and 1833 I assume.

HELP NEEDED PLEASE to find Margarets nee name and birth place

    Thank you

    Lynda
