Hi, It appears that my G.G.G. Grandfather was a brass founder or so it states on his marriage certificate, on his son's marriage certificate it gives him as a brass finisher. G.G.G. Grandfather was born c1817 in West Bromwhich, would there be apprentice records for that occupation in the mid 1800's, his name was John Latimer/Lattimer, on some records he is John Charles Latimer/Lattimer.

For the most part, apprenticeships were private agreements between the master (employer) and family of the apprentice. As such survival rate from the mid-19th century si not that great. You may find indentures in county record offices; the Society of Genealogists has a collection though I don't know the range in years that these cover.
If someone was apprenticed to a company, check to see if the company records have been deposited in a record office. Either use the relevant county record office web-site, or try searching Access to Archives.

You could email the Record Office for West Bromwich and ask if they have apprenticeship records or Freeman lists for the period. Give them enough information and they come up trumps without charging a research fee.
