    Default BOORMAN family

Hello everyone, I am interested in the BOORMAN family from the Canterbury area. Possible names and dates are John Boorman c1799 to c1874, sons Edward and John and daughters Agnes, Mary Ann and Elizabeth. Does anyone have any info to share? TIA Christine.

Default Is this the right family?

I found these on the 1851 Census....don't know if it's the right family, but if so it gives you a starting point.

    HO107/1624 Folio 62
1 Almony St. Paul, Canterbury, Kent

BOORMAN, John, head, m, 51, Carpenter, b. Canterbury, Kent
BOORMAN, Elizabeth, wife, m, 51, b. Canterbury, Kent
BOORMAN, Edward, son, 13, b. Canterbury, Kent
BOORMAN, Elizabeth, daur, 10, b. Canterbury, Kent

    Good luck.

    Hi Maria

I think the Catherine you mention was probably Catherine GALLEHAWK rather than GALLCHAUK - there was one who married a Charles Edward BOORMAN in 1874, I think in the St Saviour (Southwark) registration district. Catherine was daughter of Charles GALLEHAWK of Lower Halstow and Sarah LUCKHURST. My wife can fill you in more on the Gallehawk family if you're interested - everyone of that name (with variants) seems to descend from an Anthony of Milton and Lower Halstow in the mid-17th century.

    Default Boormans

I have got a son Edward Boorman born 06th Jan 1838 which I have just got the birth certificate for.

Edward went on to marry Susannah (dont know surname) and they had 4 children:

    Clara Ellen Boorman - 1863
    Herbert George Boorman - 1862
    John Boorman - 1859
    Charles Boorman - 1866

I know more recent stuff as well but you probably have that already.

Do you have any info to share?

Hello Ian, I also have Edward Boorman born 1838 on my family tree. I can't find any record of a marriage to a Susannah except to a Susannah Carey in Uckfield in 1866 which seems wrong. I have a few bits and pieces on the Boorman family if you are interested. How are you connected? Regards Christine.
