I'm trying to trace information on a relative of mine. His name was George Liddell and he was born in Glasgow in about 1843. He became a teacher in the city. How can I find out which schools he taught at? I know he was still a teacher in 1901, living at Elmbank Street in Glasgow.
Can anyone help????

I don't claim to know anything about research in Scotland but there's a Guide to Educational Records here...

I found a relative of mine listed in an entry for a school in Kelly's Directory (1914). Is there something similar for Scotland?
Regards,
maggie
