    Default New member from Iowa

Hello from Iowa - the state west of Illinois and Chicago in the Midwest of US. I have been researching for some 15 years and we have several branches of our family that came from England, Scotland and Ireland. So I'm eager to share/connect with fellow researchers.

    Default Cedar Rapids!

Yes, on some days when Quaker Oats is processing the cereal Cedar Rapids does have a distinct malty smell in the air! But we can't smell it here in Iowa City! Ann

My memory was of a smell of jam. Quaker must have been cooking a cereal with strawberries in it or similar!
