Hi there,

I am tracing my family tree and wonder if you have any additional information to share with me at all?

I have Catherine Hicks b1756 marrying John Oliver (of St Minver) in St Ervan 4th December 1776. Her parents were Richard Hicks (1722-1804) and Catherine Carhart (born abt 1724), brothers and sisters to my Catherine Hicks were Jennifer, James, Edward, Richard, Mary, Richard, George, Lancelot and Betsy.

Richard Hicks (1722-1804) parents were Richard Hicks (abt 1697-1730) and Jennifer (abt 1699-1767)

Richard Hicks (abt 1697-1730) parents were Lancelot Hicks (born abt 1660) and Mary Rowse (abt 1664-1705), and he had a brother Lancelot (born abt 1694)

I know that goes quite a long way back already but if you have any more definate dates, surnames that are missing or if I am very lucky any additional ancestors that would be fantastic. Would you know what these people did for work at all?

dau of Humphrey (1779 St ervan) and Jennifer Benton,
son of William ( 1746 St Ervan) and Dorothy Rowncevel,
son of George (1707 St ervan) and Jane Brewer,
son of John (1677 St Ervan) and Johanna Gill,
son of Sampson (abt 1656) and Edy George.
I hope i have all these correct!
Anyway I saw these posts regarding the Hicks and any help would be really appreciated.
I'd just love a file on all these Hicks's if anyone is willing!!!!!!
Any help would be really appreciated and I'll happily share whatever info I have.

Dear Lesley,

What makes you think George who married Jane Brewer was the one born in 1707? I think he married Ann Eplet on 26 aug 1727 in St Eval and had four children there followed by one in St Mawgan in 1738. Now I will concede that he may later have married Jane Brewer on 12 Feb 1741/42 in St Ervan but I have no proof of that ......do you? I will confirm that the George born 1707 did have the ancestry you say though and assuming that he married twice then the line is correct back to Sampson Hicks and Edy George married 26 Dec 1676 in St Ervan!
