Are you able to get to LDS family history center, they can order this film for you - Bishop's transcripts for Barkby, 1562-1830 Church of England. Parish Church of Barkby (Leicestershire) if Clara was baptised where she says she was born, it could help you find her parents.

I have just looked at the one in Exeter. It is now closed until early 2010. Last time I looked it said until beg September!!! I might try phoning tomorrow and see if there is anyone there.

I have just found in the 1841 census an innkeeper in ThurmastonSouth called James Coltman who was not born in the county. In the 1851 census, there is a James Coltman (Wid) lodging in Thurmaston who was born in Greenwich Kent. I don't know if there is any connection to Clara or not, but it ties the two places loosely together (maybe)
