Hi Mickey,
Can't find your chap on the medal rolls of either TNA or A.........ry. So I'm wondering if he served in WW1
Do you have anymore info, other christian names etc?

You could, like most of us, buy a copy of his military record

There is a medal card for a P Faulkner, Private, Lancashire Fusliers at the National Archives, Documents OnLine, but whether or not he is yours I don't know. You can purchase a copy for £2.00 and download it from here.
I have searched Ancestry using the regiment number quoted, but can't find it.Jellylegs

Good find, Jellylegs.

Ancestry has this medal index card under D. FAULKNER. Looking at the image, it could (just) be a P. See what you think?
This man enlisted in the Lancashire Fusiliers on 9 Aug 1917, discharged 18 Mar 1919 under Para. 392 etc., unfit for further service. So presumably he was awarded the Silver War Badge, for men discharged early due to illness or injury.

Well Kerrywood, it certainly looks like a D to me.
Wonder if we can find any other records for a D FAULKNER? Even if it's to exclude this one. Of course, there may not be any as I understand that 60% of the records were lost in the bombing in London. (Never have been able to find my G. Uncle's records - only his medal card and death/burial on CWGC).Jellylegs

After only a brief look (it's bedtime!) I can't identify any service or pension records for a FAULKNER (any initial) with that service number. As you say, more than half of the records were destroyed by a fire in WW2.
I wonder if it might be worth contacting the regimental museum, to ask if they have a record of the first name of the soldier with that service number?
Also, if they know which unit he served in, it should be possible to find out from other sources where he might have been located in 1917-1919. There are war diaries for some units in WO 95. Just a thought.
