    Cool Conviction in Wakefield Yorkshire

I have been searching for a long time for Job Stuckey in the 1860's. I have now come across a Job Stucky who was convicted of larceny in jan 1865 in Wakefield, Yorks. Where can I find more details about him eg age, place of birth etc which will confirm or otherwise that he was "my" Job.

You probably need to contact the West Yorkshire Archives Service in Wakefield. They have the records for the West Riding Quarter Sessions, as well as some registers for Wakefield Prison (if by chance he was sent there).

Hi Pat, what you have not found is Job on the 1861 Census, is that correct?
If so, I am sure while I am asleep, some kind soul will look him up, or offer advice.

    Keyboard86,
    Hi!
The 1851 entry for Job Stuckey b1842 is not the one I need but is his nephew (I think without checking my records). My Job was born in Kingston Seymour Somerset in 1828/9.
I haven't been able to trace a marriage but 1861 and later censuses name his children born in 1855 and 1857. They, with their mother and Jobs wife appear on the 1861 census in Stoke on Trent but Job is not there. He later reappears and 2 more children are born in 1872 and '74.

So my problem is trying to locate his whereabouts between 1857 when son William was born and 1871 and later when he is also in Stoke.

This possible sighting at the courts in Wakefield in 1865 is the only "appearance" I have come across.

    Frustrating!!

    Pat
