Thank you SO much Doug!...ohhh I could hug you!!

There was always rumour among the family that Fred married a woman called Lidster, but the name we had was Leah....Now all 3 surnames appear.

I must learn to check the basics!
She was a Leah, her mum remarried a Lidster, and was raised under the name Lidster

Often muddies the waters when that happens.

Unfortunately to date the Victorian shipping indexes do not cover your time frame.

May or may not be of interest to you but on the Sheffield & District FHS forum a post has been made by a Lidster researcher.

    Dear Rachie,

Hi!! My name is Kate. Leah Lidster Wells was my great-great grandmother. Her father was Joseph Lidster. Leah was born before her mother married Joseph. Leah was Joseph Lidster's daughter. I don't know if Leah's mother married a second time or not but it has nothing to do with the Lidster name. Also answer to query regarding Frederick's Wells death; he died at Heidelberg Hospital.

Hi, Just new at this, my name is kate, my great great grandfather was Frederick Wells. He and Esther are buried at the Brighton Cemertery.Brighton.When they arrived in Australia. They went to Victoria. At 88 Chomley Street. Prahan. Where they lived out their lifes. My mother and aunt went to lunch each Sunday. My great Grand Mother Edith Emily Keighron (Wells) Esther's eldest daughter. She use to tell me lots of stories about her family in England. Lidster and Wells are a very old names I was very young then still, I remember her saying her greatgrands uncles, were Cold Stream Guards at Windsor Castle, in Queen Victora's reign. Their children use to play with Victoria's children well that's what she said and I guess she would have know.Loved to lisen to her storied. Hope this helps
    Kate
