Unfortunately on their marriage certificate it doesn't give either of their parents, as it was in 1825 there was no space for parents, just two witnesses which is hard to read.
I will certainly investigate the death for 1841.
Thanks again for your invaluable help

I appreciate that a long time has passed since the original thread but wonder if anyone has any idea if the son of this Barlow family, John born c1835 could be John William who appears as an apprentice carpenter with the Muffett family in Bromley in 1851 and subsequently married a Mary Ann Muffett? I am researching a family tree for a friend here in Spain.

Hi, and welcome to the forums!
This John BARLOW apparently did have the middle name William.
According to the bishops' transcripts for St John the Evangelist, Westminster, he was baptised John William on 27 July 1834, son of John & Mary BARLOW, Kings Arms, College Street, father a Licensed Victualler, and he was born 17 April 1834.
I see that your John BARLOW gives a birthplace of St Margaret Westminster in 1851, so it looks possible. But to determine whether these are the same person, you will need to access the 1858 Westminster marriage record, to check the name/occupation of your John BARLOW's father.
Westminster register images are not online for this period, so that probably means buying the marriage certificate, or seeking the marriage among the parish registers at Westminster City Archives (there would be several churches to search through).

Apologies for the delay in responding to your very helpful reply. As you say, the only way to be more certain would be to buy the marriage certificate of 1858, so I will pass on that piece of information to the chap I am trying to help with his family tree. Unfortunately, like so many, he probably wants all the information without any expense. As we do not live in the UK we do not have the opportunity to go through the parish registers at Westminster City Archives.
Again, many thanks - much appreciated.

I originally put the thread on for John Barlow, yes his son was john william, he was my gggrandfather and did marry Mary Ann Muffett, I have a copy of their marriage certificate and if there is a way of sending you an email attachment I would be happy to do so.
