    Default reading b.m.d certs

    HI THERE
    CAN ANYONE TELL ME IF IT"S POSSIBLE TO HAVE THE INFOMATION GIVEN ON ONE OF THESE CERTIFICATES WRITTEN DOWN IN
    CAPITAL LETTERS ALONG SIDE THE NEW CERTIFICATE, AS IT"S A PROBLEM READING THEM AT TIMES.

    Hello bullgoose and welcome to the forum.

    I am not sure that I understand your question. Certificates are normally copies of what was written in the registers. I have never seen capital letters used anywhere.

    Most people complain about the use of capital letters as being more difficult to read.

    Yes indeed. This is why motorway signs are written in the conventional mix of upper and lower case - so that they can be read quickly and easily.

    Perhaps uploading a portion of the certificate that you are having difficulty reading, will allow forum members to decipher the words in question?

    Some that are original copies of handwriting can be extremely difficult to read. I have a couple that are so swirley that reading them is a real exercise!

    Basically what you see is what you get. And GRO/RO's probably don't have the time to translate them (due to mistrancribing errors)

    SORRY ABOUT BEING MISSING FOR A FEW DAYS, THIS IS DUE TO ONLY BEING ON THE INTERNET AT MY LOCAL LIBRARY. MY QUESTION IS, THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE I BOUGHT WAS WRITTEN OUT BY SOMEONE ON THE DAY I BOUGHT IT AND DATED IN THE SAME HAND WRITING,COULD HE ALSO WRITE IT OUT IN CAPITAL LETTERS ON A SPARE BIT OF PAPER

    Surely the only people who can answer that question are the people who are supplying the certificate? Have you tried asking them, and explaining why you need the information in capital letters?
