    Default Jane DRYSDALE

Found out Jane DRYSDALE b 1862 Kinross, was residing at Woodside Farm, Clackmannan at time of 1881 census.

I would like to know who she was staying with as her parents were still in Kinross and she didn't marry until 1886.

can anyone help with this information?

    Regards
    Amanda

Found her - although the birthplace is shown as Perthshire, not Kinross. (change of boundary?)

    Hi Mary,

Thank you for that. Very much appreciated. Thats a little mystery solved there although i would love to know what made her move away by herself when her family remained in Kinross. I guess there are some things we will never know!

    Many Thanks
    Regards

    Hi, Amanda,
I was happy to help, and it only took a minute. I remarked on Jane's birthplace given as Perth, rather than Kinross - but I think the admin. area was "Perth & Kinross". Unless the family were comfortably off, most people were away from home by the time they reached 16.
Aren't the placenames wonderful, I've been browsing http://www.dgnscrn.demon.co.uk/genuki/KRS/Fossoway/
Drop me an email if I can help again with the 1881 census.
