Is anyone researching a silversmith named Samuel HERBERT, of London?

His company was called "Samuel Herbert & Co." and apparently operated around 1747 - 1786. Pieces of his silver work are seen on various museum, antiques and auction sites online, with prices up to 4700 pounds.

My real questions are these:

1) Is "Samuel Herbert & Co." the same company (or an associated company) as "Herbert & Co.", known to have made buttons for military-type uniforms, in London, probably in the 1700s - 1800s?

2) Is there any record of a HERBERT marriage to a CLARKE / CLARK / CLERKE etc. ?

(I'm doing lateral thinking about a dead-end ancestor named Herbert CLARKE, button manufacturer of London, who died in 1808.)
