Did you go to the Imperial picture house, or the Globe (The Bug Hut)? or school dinners somewhere near a Brewery on the west side of Chorlton road?
I did

childhood days
Hi mike, Oh what memories, yes I remember the Imperial at Brookes bar and the bug hut, I went to St Brides primary on Cornbrook st and then to Stretford rd Juniors before leaving to go to St Josephs Catholic School I lived on Clifford Street off tamworth St before we were all rehoused in the early 60s. Do you remember the record shop on Alexander Rd where you could go in a booth and listen to the latest single? or are you just a youngster? I went to the Saturday matinee at Whalley range and we went to the baths there as well. The Brewary was Hydes and we would get allies from there, it was on Moss Lane. Linda Thornton as was.

Manchester City Council, local images collection has some pictures of the Cornbrook Street area, although there doesn't seem to be one of St Brides school.

You lived around the corner from my Grandmothers sister and my Cousin Jean. They lived in Alma Square off Clarence street.

No I am not younger than you. But I dont remember swimming in Whalley Range. I did in Chorlton Baths and near Manchester City's grounds.
Cheers

I don't wish to be a killjoy, but this is heading away from the original post.
