Default RAF Bomber Crew Photograph - Help please!

I have an (official) photograph featuring a six man RAF Bomber Crew. The relative who provided it was "promised" to a chap who was killed in WW2. This photograph was cherished by her and therefore it is assumed that he is one of the six.
I do not have a name or any rank, squadron, or other information. The lady in question lived in Liverpool at the time.

I am on a quest to discover the identity of this "beau". Research has shown that he fathered a child but no records are available to provide his identity. The matter was "not spoken about" by immediate family and has not been researched before.

The crew photograph is definately WW2 and RAF. The first clue is that it is six man, with a Sergeant Pilot siting central lower tier with "half wings" to left and right, and indeed the three row rear.

This would rule out a Lancaster crew, that being seven man. I am assuming (yes, I know!) that the aircraft type is probably a Wellington. This was produced throughout the War, six man crew, and built in large numbers.

Does anyone else have any idea how to identify the photograph and the personnel?

You say the photograph is "official" which suggests that it has some identifying information on the back. Does that include a number that might identify the image? If so, it would be worth checking with the RAF Museum (see http://www.rafmuseum.org.uk/london/c...ic/index.cfmto )
to find out if they also have a copy and if there are any records to say when and where it was taken and who the subjects are.

I tried the link but it refuses to "speak to me" says words to the effect - "wrong link" etc. "not available".

Perhaps it's just me and my p.c.

    Regards

    Hi

Have you tried the RAF Association in West Kirby? When my father was looking for information about my uncle who served in the RAF at Fiskerton, the local association were really helpful. The website address is below.

    rafwka.co.uk

    Good luck

    Regards
