I've tried to send a couple of attachments of some scans of certificates that I had done in tif format. I have just been told by the person that I sent them to that none of the attachments came through and that across the top of the emails was the message "O.E. removed access to the following unsafe attachments in your mail". I have sent similar attachments before to other people with different service providers and not had a problem. Apparently the service provider Paradise.net.nz does block any spam and items with virus. However I have anti virus software on my computer and each outgoing email is checked.
Could anyone suggest a solution?
Thanks
Ruth

Outlook Express
There is definitely a way you can get OE to open these attachments. When I bought a new computer and loaded back in saved files and e-mails the new OE wouldn't open them. I have a feeling I did something as simple as right clicking the mouse but there is definitely a way you can configure things under Options. I now use Outlook rather than OE and it is a hundred times better

I too have given up on OE - but vaguely recollect - doesn't the blocking nessage come up in a yellow strip, you just click on it to allow the attachment?

Thank you to everyone who had given their advice. I have passed this on and hopefully it should correct the situation. Nothing more frustrating that knowing someone is trying to send you lovely family history attachments, and you can't get to 'em.....
