    HI MUTLEY

    Thank you for following up.

My biggest problem is that I do NOT know HOW and WHERE to follow-up on the replies that I receive.

What I need is a SEQUENTIAL list of entries that I have to make and WHERE.

    Basically, I am working BLIND!

My great grand father was ANTONIO FRIGIERI

My great grand mother was ,I believe , MARIA CARUANA **

They lived in MALTA circa 1740 **

** These are subject to scrutiny and change

I shall have to check into old letters to retrieve more relevant details.

As I am starting from SCRATCH ,I am unprepared .

Thanks for replying to my initial query.

    Default Looking for Frigieri

One of the Friggieri men c1914 was a star soccer player for Floriana FC Malta.

He played in the same team as my mother's cousin the great Jack Herbert also born Floriana Malta.

Two very famous surnames in the town of Floriana. In Malta the surname had two 'gg's

If that's the case I suppose you'll be wanting to get your documentation in order so that you have proof at your fingertips of your relationship to this family.

When you're ready you could then touch base with this guy

Well, if you have managed to get back to 1740 you must have some records or documents. I am not nearly that far back.

You start with yourself, then your parents, their parents and their parents. Certificates prove the line. Prior to 1837 you have to look at the Parish Records of the churches your family were baptised and married in.

I do not know anything about searching in Italy or Malta, sorry.
I think Peter has given you a good link so click on that and get in touch with the man who has researched the Frigieri family.

    Good Luck

    Hi Fedora,
The name Friggieri has its origins in Italy, but it is a fairly common name here in Malta today.
A Bartholomeo Friggeri married for the second time to an Angelica Fiteni in 1679.
The surname Friggieri is in the Status Animarum of Malta of 1687.(Census)
If you are searching the name then I suggest you try.

Be warned that most of the archives for your time will be in either Italian or Latin, as the Knights of St John were in residence here up until 1798, their archives remain here on the island. The National Archives here would probably be your best start.

Cheers from a very 41 degrees today

I have taken the tree back to 1635 but it does not contain your branch. I would love to review your research.
