    Default John George Penn LONG

The above born approx 1778 in Surrey appears to have been married twice:-

His daughter Hannah Long was 15 yrs old when she married Lt RN Henry Gittings (my 2x gt grandfather) 35 yrs old in 1830. Is is said Henrys parents objected to the marriage as John was a Warrant Officer Carpenter RN and considered to be inferior due to his rank compared to Henry. Hannahs parents objected to the marriage because she was so young. However marry they did and had 14 children. I have loads of documentary evidence to support this. I have a will for John George Penn Long dated 1854 naming Henry as is executor and Hannah as his daughter he also mentions Ann as his wife. In 1841 and 1851 he is living in Gillingham Kent with Ann, close by to his daughter and her husband.

I have found out today via IGI that
    1. John George Penn Long married Hannah Wetstone 8.8.1813 st Mary Newington Surrey.
    2. I then found a note of a marriage on A*y for above to Ann Benstead in 1819 at Rochester Kent! It appears my 2 x gt grandma may have been 4 years old when they married.

What I need is confirmation of both marriages for John George Penn Long and confirmation somehow of what happened to his 1st wife. I have repeated his name because this is how it appears in both marriage lists as is seems unlikely that there would be 2 different people with a name like this.
Can anyone help me sort this out.
    Best Wishes
    Jane

Just found on Medway city ark
    John George Penn Long Widower
    Ann Benstead Widow
    Rochester St Margarets 18.4.1819 marriages
So now I am unsure if John actually was the father of Hannah Long.
